Rockwell 6S Adjustable Stainless Steel Safety Razor

Call me a skeptic but I rolled the dice and brought the Brush Stainless Rockwell 6S. Have the Feather AS-D2 and was ....MEH! Its OK. Favorite razer became the Muhle R89 with Personna blades. However, this razor is great. With the Rockwell blades it gave the smoothest., easiest shave I have yet to get with a Safety razor. Used the R3 Plate, no nicks, no weepers, no problems. I really enjoyed using this razor so much so that I just ordered a second one in blue. So if you are undecided hopefully this review will help. Found it a little cheaper on Amazon, not much to be a deal breaker, but order it from Shave Nation and give Geo your business.. His customer service and shipping cant be beat.

Devices that attempt to "do it all" are usually doomed to less than stellar performance. This razor is no exception. On the gentle end it is less comfortable than a Feather AS D2. On the more aggressive side it is not nearly as smooth are a Muhle Rocca 94/95/96. It is a nice introduction, but one you won't keep around very long.

I ordered the item from Rockwell back on 6.14.2022 and it took 7 days before I finally received the item on the 21st! With Shave Nation, Inc., it would most likely have been less than half that amount of time. Anyway, it's best to purchase from Shave Nation, Inc., when you can. Now, about the 6S...

For most shaving needs, I believe this is the best safety razor out there. I believe this form of adjustable safety razor (with plates) is better than using the adjustable version that uses a knob with numbers. With this plate version, there is no chance of accidentally changing its setting as there would be if it were the version using an adjustable knob. Also, each plate seems to correspond appropriately with what's needed when shaving down first, then up; based on my shaving habits, I use the larger # on one side of the plate to shave down, then I use the smaller # on the opposite side of the same plate to shave up. It works well for me and I'm still very happy with this purchase. In fact, I don't see the need for another shaver since I'm very content with this one. Only one dislike: once assembled, the L/R edges of the blade stick out. I hope Rockwell resolves that issue in the future.
