Only 2 shaves in with the Merur Futur DE razor (or any DE Razor for that matter) and why did I wait so long. Love this razor and loving the shave I get. I still have a lot to learn but the initial impression is amazing. Very happy.

After watching Geo’s video about the Merkur Futur safety razor I decided to take a chance and I’m glad I did.
Being able to adjust the aggressiveness of the razor was a big selling point as my beard has a couple of trouble spots that get irritated easily so being able to switch to a more mild shave on these areas was fantastic to say the least.

It’s a well made razor that is aggressive which is what I need for my thick facial hair. Paired with feather blades it’s a perfect combo for me

I kicked around the idea of purchasing the Futur for a while, I'm glad I did. I wanted to get a bunch of shaves in before I formed my opinion, well here it is. This thing is awesome. If there ever was a razor that craved sharp blades, this is it. The first few shaves were so so going through the learning curve, mostly making adjustments looking at the side of the razor without the hash mark and wondering why it felt like it was taking skin. Ever since I've had awesome results and some of the closest shaves ever with minimal irritation. For every other day shaves I go 4.5 on the first and 3 on the second. For 2 days plus I go 5.5 on first pass and 4 on the second. When I have to shave everyday I do 2 passes on 3. Once in a while I do a clean up pass on 2. Using sharp blades combined with the heft of this razor makes it very efficient. If you're thinking about it buy it and get feather or med prep blades. You're not going to cut yourself up if you take your time, start low, work your way up and allow the weight of the razor to do the work. Another thing to note is that the futur gives good feedback while shaving. I would also like to add that the service provided by Shave Nation was excellent and fast.
