A very good alum block

It’s like a cold ice cube after the shave. But you do have to build a tolerance first. It lets me know how close of a shave is enough, and definitely helps me to keep from going to close.

Great End of Shave Feel

There is nothing more energizing than that end of shave skin tightness when you know that you shaved just a tad to close. It almost gives me that Zen feeling when you use the figure eight method spreading your shaving cream. NOT!!
BUT!! I will NEVER finish a shave without it…

Great for small nicks

This is an underrated shaving item. It's great for the skin because a styptic closes the pores. I don't find it to sting very severely even when cut. The block version is worth it because it lasts a long time.
