Only Razor you need

I don't have a drawer full of razors. I have one other. It is an adjustable and my
first. I don't use it anymore. This R41 is perfect. Yes it is aggressive but why use a
razor that is not. If you have trouble with it check you technique or your lathers and
prep. My beard is average and my skin is average. I do three passes. Down, across
and up. Just about that fast. An open comb is superior. At least I think so.

I absolutely love it! One of my top favorites. Aggressive but not excessively if you’re careful.
But, wish I would’ve gotten the grande.

Just Not For Me

The R41 is a beautiful beast of a razor. It’s superb in both design and quality. The open comb and overall heft makes the R41 particularly “aggressive.” It’s probably not too far removed from an actual straight razor.
I tried to shave with it twice. The second time I actually aborted half way through and finished with my 34C. It was just too rough. Perhaps my skin is too sensitive for the R41 Maybe. But regardless, this particular razor simply doesn’t agree with my face. That’s all that matters. It made what should be a pleasant experience into something somewhat unpleasant.
But I still must give the R41 top marks. It’s a superior product that functions as it was designed. It’s just not for me, I bit off more than I could chew with this razor. But of course, ymmv. Research the many options out there. The R41 could be exactly what you’re looking for in a razor. Many gents out there love it! But don’t be like me, do your homework first.

Muhle R41

This is a very aggressive razor as everyone has already stated. It is a beautiful razor and easy to use, with minimal curve if you have used a safety razor before. I used it with a Bic Chrome platinum blade, great shave very close. I normally shave with a vintage straight razor made in the 1920’s and this is as close to a straight razor shave as I have ever had (without a straight razor). Exactly as advertised

This is definitely an aggressive razor. It’s not very weighty but it doesn’t need to be. Use a light touch. Can be slippery if you’ve got soapy hands but grips fine when wet. I do recommend this razor.
